HypnoBirthing

For many women, childbirth is something to fear. They have heard many horror stories of unspeakable pain, emergency cesareans and endless hours of contractions. With stories like these, it is no wonder that many women panic and reach for pain relief at the first available opportunity. HypnoBirthing shows prospective mothers and their birthing partners that pain and panic do not have to be bi-products of bringing a baby into the world and it illustrates how we experience pain in childbirth, in part because we very much expect to.

HypnoBirthing teaches deep relaxation techniques that allow the body to let go of the fear-tension-pain pattern and allow the mother to birth her baby naturally and peacefully. Freedom from fear can make a huge difference in the birthing experience, minimizing or eliminating the production of adrenaline in the body, which can cause the labour to become dysfunctional - a common reason for Cesarean Section surgery.

Using hypnosis before, during and after the birth of a baby can be extremely beneficial for both mother and child. Studies have shown that women using HypnoBirthing require less medication, have fewer complications and are more likely to deliver healthier and calmer babies. Prior to the birth, HypnoBirthing can help you begin the bonding process with your baby, and can help take away some of the anxieties, worries and fears you may have about labour and the birth itself. Women who use HypnoBirthing are usually calmer and more relaxed during the event, which can result in an easier and more comfortable birth, with less mental and physical tiredness after your baby is born. Babies born to mothers who use hypnosis tend to cry less and eat and sleep better.

Post-natal depression can affect up to 1 in 7 mothers after they give birth, and it can range from mild 'baby blues' to more severe levels of depression. Hypnotherapy can also be very successful in helping you to overcome these feelings and be able to enjoy your new baby.
